Sandpipers

A pleasant Sunday afternoon at the beach about 1900, and yes, there were color comics then, although fairly new. If you were to wade in the surf at the foot of Harris St., Bay Head, a century later, you'd still recognize the E.W. Clark house. Dunes have replaced the boardwalk, most of the jetty is under sand, and the bath houses on the left long gone. The sandpipers still run along the edge of the surf looking for a meal!
