Artist Janice Collinson studied at Westminster College and Georgian
Court College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts. Her watercolor
paintings are in collections at the Historical Allaire Village in
Allaire State Park, NJ, The Medical Center of Ocean County Foundation,
Brielle, NJ, Spring Lake Community Theatre, and in the White Lilac Inn,
Spring Lake, NJ. Among her commissions have been renderings of homes
for
Diane Turton Realtors, NJ, designing commemorative postmarks for
Historical Allaire Village, and bridge renderings for the Law
Offices of
Norman Hobbie, Toms River, NJ. Known for her soft floral watercolors
and
her pen & ink drawings, Collinson often combines the two techniques
when
doing house portrait commissions.
Her work has been seen in exhibitions including the 1995 Annual
Miniature Show, Paper Mill Playhouse, Millburn, NJ, the Peck School
Gallery, Morristown, NJ, in 2000, and various gallery shows in the
area.
She is an active member of the Manasquan River Group of Artists, and
teaches watercolor workshops at the Sea Girt Lighthouse through that
group. She has had her illustrations published in Cooks and Artists of
the Jersey Shore, Hoffman Press, 1980, and Cuisine and Art, Hoffman
Press, 1989. She participates in St. Paul's Annual Antiques Show and
Art
Sale every August in Bay Head, NJ. Collinson's work can be seen at the
Anchor & Palette Gallery on a regular basis. She works out of her
studio
at her home in Manasquan.
