1937 Bathing Beauty by Dick LaBonte Beth Alyse Kantor

Beth Alyse Kantor received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History degree, with a concentration in Fine Art, from Princeton University. She is a member of prestigious organizations such as the Garden State Watercolor Society, Northeast Watercolor Society, New York and the New Jersey Watercolor Society. Her paintings have been published in various artists magazines, including "The Artist Magazine", "American Artist", "Watercolor Magazine" and various issues of Jersey Shore Vacation Guide.

Her work can be seen in "To The Shore Once More Vol. II". One of her paintings of the dunes is hanging in Bay Head's Borough Hall. Beth has received many awards for her watercolors and was selected as an Artist in Residence at Weir Farm in Connecticut in 2002 and earlier by American Artist Magazine as one of fifteen artists across the country to participate in a painting workshop at the Forbes' Ranch Trinchera in Colorado. Her paintings are in the permanent collection of Forbes Magazine Galleries, New York. Also a gifted portrait artist, Beth also does portraits of friends and family, house portraits to pet portraits, which she will paint by commission.

"I work both from life and from photographs, enjoying the benefits of both methods. While photography allows me to freeze a particular moment and provides me with the freedom to study the scene at my leisure, there is nothing that compares to the lighting, color range, and the liveliness that can only be achieved when working on site. I prefer, therefore, to work on site for the beginning stages of a painting and to use supplementary photographs to complete the details."
