1937 Bathing Beauty by Dick LaBonte
Ann Hayes

Ann Hayes has been painting the beaches and beach-goers of the Jersey Shore since childhood. Working in transparent watercolor, her compositions are built in stages of glazing and washes to create paintings filled with light and color. While Hayes is best know for her porch scenes, she uses her unique talent for natural realism to capture the unique feeling of being in a beloved shore home, the sun-drenched innocence of children at play, and the everyday objects that give our lives warmth and character. Commissioned portraits are done from candid photos taken by the artist on location and completed in her studio in Seaside Park.
