The Anchor & Palette Gallery, a family-owned business
for over 30 years, is the source of Dick LaBonté's paintings and prints.
Anne LaBonté Neff, daughter of artist Dick LaBonté, currently owns and
manages the business. At the end of 2009, the gallery moved its location
to 56 Bridge Avenue, inside the Jolly Tar gift shop. Many of the artists
who were in the gallery on Mount Street moved over to the Jolly Tar as
well, continuing the availability of high quality local artwork in the
shore town of Bay Head.
Prints by Dick LaBonté, Paula Kolojeski, and Robert Loder Jr, and both
paintings and prints by artists such as Al Barker, Marcy Paley Cohen,
Janice Collinson, Tine Kirkland Graham, Andrew Huntley Robertson, Ann
Hayes, Wendy McCarthy, Mary Jo Austin, Marie Salvato and more are all on
display at the Jolly Tar. Custom framing is available by appointment, and
the shop offers an assortment of books and original watercolors by
children's book illustrator Margie Moore.
The Anchor & Palette is looking forward to an exciting summer of
supporting the arts both at the new location on Bridge Avenue, and art
shows in Bay Head such as Art in the Park on Saturday, June 12th and
Christmas in July, on Saturday, July 24th. For more information about
upcoming shows and your favorite local artists, see our Upcoming Events
section on this website. To contact the Jolly Tar, call 732-892-0223.
